Italian Serie A - Beckham Finally Talks About His Plans with AC Milan
Now, after all the rumors on the media, David Beckham finally admits
that he wants to stay at the AC Milan permanently and his legal
representatives are making all the negotiations with Galaxy. Beckham
wants to cut his contract that he still has with the Los Angeles Galaxy
for three more years, so he can be free to play with the AC Milan on a
permanent basis.
After being on a loan transfer for 2 months with the AC Milan, David
has expressed his desire but there are still things to be done before
anything goes his way. For Beckham, being a Galaxy player has been and
a very good experience for him and he has plenty of respect for the LA
Galaxy club. He also states that he is very grateful for all the things
Galaxy has given to him, but currently his plans are to go back to the
European stage and play with the Milan for an indefinite amount of time
since he is enjoying so much being there and the way he is plays there,
which is the main reason for his decision.
“I hope they can come to an agreement and it's down to the clubs
now. At this point it's out of my hands. I've said what my feelings are
to both clubs. To be given the chance again to play at this level at my
age is pretty incredible and I've enjoyed it so much I would like to
continue it.'' Said the English superstar, “I knew I would enjoy it,
but I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I have and do as well as I
have.''
The AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi along with vice president
Adriano Galliani and Coach Carlo Ancelotti have repeatedly expressed
that they will be very happy if the LA Galaxy agrees to start the
negotiations but the LA club has refused to give any statements about
Beckham’s future yet.
Beckham has been playing so good and effective in the midfield with
Milan that Coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that he has become a
fundamental player for the team. He expressed that Beckham has added
an extra ingredient to the team that was missing before he came to the
team and that is why he wants him to stay and even included him in the
UEFA Cup list. His presence in the team has had much influence in the
fans as well, which have been requesting more friendly games for Milan
to see the most of Beckham while he remains with the club.
For his part, Galliani has said that even thought they have a great
group of stars in the team, the club would be very sorry if Beckham
finally has to leave. Currently Beckham is still a Galaxy player and if
the American team does not want to release him, AC Milan won’t be able
to do anything for Beckham to stay with the Rossoneri team. The AC
Milan has until March 8th to set a negotiation but nothing is certain;
the Galaxy spokesman Patrick Donnelly still refuses to talk about the
situation but sooner or later they will have to.
We hope that both teams can take the best decision based on what the
player wants and the interests for both of them; David Beckham is a
great player and he deserves to be where he wants to, especially at
this time of his career and with his high hopes of been part of the
England team for the 2010 World Cup.
