Killer Ideas To Get Your Website Concept On The Front Page
Trying to decide a concept for your potential website is going to be
one of the most important tasks you will need to do. The more thought
you give it the easier it will be to build your site.
Here we assume that your website will be one that will provide
information to the public about a subject of which you are very
familiar rather one that is basically a store site selling goods or
services. These two sometimes are combined and not only provide good
information but they sell a particular item as well.
For instance. Someone loves photography. They are serious about the
hobby. They have taken a few courses and are considered by their
friends as good enough to be a professional. They decide to build a
website with the concept of photography. They simply want to give good
information and perhaps help others with their photo problems. They
begin to build a few good pages, then a few more, and it really takes
shape. Visitors find the site. Soon they are coming at the rate of a
thousand a day. One day he finds a site offering an affiliate deal on
photographic equipment. He places a few of their ads on his pages. He
then discovers google adsense. He places a few of their ads and begins
to make a few cents every time a visitor clicks onto one of the ads.
These scenarios must be considered before you start to come up with
your concept. You need not decide right now about the ads, but you
should keep it in mind because if you are thinking now about actually
making some money this way you should consider a subject that will have
a broad appeal.
It is impossible to figure out what will be a popular concept or
not. There are good website building programs on line that make it easy
to decide your concept by comparing the popularity of one concept
versus another. It may be wise to take some time and search them out.
One way to come up with a concept is to think of three possible
concepts. Do online searches for your three looking at what others have
done. Let us say you are considering a concept of postage stamps. Look
online for sites relating to that. Look at their sites. How many pages
of good content do they have? Look for a site map on their navigation
bar and if there is one you can count the pages. Are the pages loaded
with good information or simply a list of links to other sites. What I
would want to see would be at least 500 to 800 words of good stuff. If
the page does not meet this standard it is poor competition. Check out
more. The best sites will be near the top of the first page of google.
Look at the content. Do you think you can do better? Go to the next
page of google. Check some of those sites out. Do you notice that these
sites are of lesser quality? You should spend quite a bit of time
checking these sites out for content. Ask yourself this question.
“Would you spend more than ten seconds on this site and would you
bookmark it for the future?” If not you probably can do better.
Do this with all three of your concepts and you should get a clear picture of what concept will work best for you.
