I was in a bind.
For my first article in 2009, I kicked around a whole bunch of training
topics that I wanted to write about to set the New Year off right. So
many topics popped up in my head, I didn’t know which one would be the
best one to start with because they were all good ideas.
Then I thought back to a conversation I had last week.
One day after training, I was sitting around talking with a couple of
my training partners and students. One of them asked me why it takes so
long to be successful in BJJ.

Every country is
home to criminals who simply enjoy harassing the innocent people. The
violence is increasing each day and law seems to dwindle from the scene
when it is most needed. In a scenario like this, self defense
techniques are the best option for a common man. Moreover, at the time
when criminal activities are taking place, you may not be having time
or means to call police. In this situation the best possible way is to
defend your self.
It is very
important to understand the fact that you must defend your self and not
depend on external factors to help you. For this you must learn street
fighting techniques. If you learn street fighting moves you will come
to know that they are the most effective forms of self defense and do
not involve lethal weapons. Therefore they can be learnt by almost any
individual of any size and sex.
